Product Manager
Location- Hybrid working with on-site attendance in Leeds or Newcastle approximately 1–2 days per month
Security Clearance- Must be eligible for BPSS
3 Month contract- Likely to be extended
£480 a day inside IR35
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the delivery of digital products within a government-focused environment. You will be responsible for defining product vision, prioritising delivery, and ensuring outcomes align with user needs and organisational goals.
Experience working within UK central government departments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Own and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, design, delivery)
Prioritise product backlogs using data, user research, and policy requirements
Ensure products meet GDS (Government Digital Service) standards
Engage with stakeholders across government to align priorities
Translate complex policy or operational requirements into clear product outcomes
Monitor product performance and continuously iterate for improvement
Support agile ceremonies and foster a user-centred design approach
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Product Manager in agile environments
Strong understanding of digital delivery in the public sector
Experience working with user research and data-driven decision making
Ability to manage stakeholders at multiple levels
Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Eligibility for BPSS clearance
